Açaí bowls have become quite the craze as a popular breakfast food and, fortunately, I think I have perfected a recipe to make delicious açaí bowls of your own. This is a great recipe if you are someone that is always in a hurry but still wants to eat breakfast. Açaí berries also have a lot of natural antioxidants which makes this a great way to give yourself some energy in the morning
This recipe makes two açaí bowl, but you could totally half the amount of frozen berries and milk to make it for one person. You can also make more ahead of time and keep it in the fridge to save time in the morning
Ingredients:
1 Frozen Acai Packet
1 1/2 cup of frozen berries/ frozen fruit
1 cup of milk (can be substituted with almond milk, soy milk, or some kind of juice)
1-2 bananas
Cut up fruits or berries of your choice
*Optional*
Honey
Flax seeds
Chia Seeds
Recipe
1. Begin by letting the frozen açaí and frozen berries/ fruit thaw for at least 10 minutes to make them easier to blend. To speed up the process, run them under lukewarm water.
2. Put the frozen ingredients and the milk into a blender and blend on high until the milk has turned the açaí into a paste. If it is too liquidy, add a chopped up banana and if it is too thick add more milk.
3. Pour into a bowl and put a chopped up banana and fruits and berries of your choice.
4. For some natural sweetness, add some honey on top
5. The rest is up to you. I love to add chia and flax seeds, but feel free to add any toppings that you like. Some others that I recommend are chocolate chips, coconut shavings, or Nutella.
